Maths is in Demand!

Just name a topic and you can almost find math(s) fundamentals that help anyone to understand or work with that field.

Even in everyday life, every regular citizen manages their banking and bills paying; they encounter math(s) and numbers in everything from addresses to train schedules. Mathematics is just part of everyday living—in science and the arts, on the farm and in the home, in sports and the entertainment industries.

Using math(s) also helps us build up our brains as we practice clear, logical, analytical, and precise thinking.

The problem-solving skills that get utilised with math(s) are essential for the analytical thinking that makes anyone more employable, versatile, and valuable in the marketplace and the world today.

We’ve all seen the technological revolution that has blossomed around every aspect of life in recent years. Math(s)-based careers in areas like software and innovation are going to be the keys to good, upper-middle-class jobs, the ones that can pull great swathes of society out of the working class.

Almost every entrepreneur and business owner needs math(s) for purchasing and planning, pricing and sales, not to mention statistically summing up customer information, sales data, and behaviour in customer service databases and systems that are at the heart of all automated and online enterprises these days. Business owners and entrepreneurs need to know their numbers.

One of my past coaches used to say, “If you don’t know your numbers, you don’t have a business.”

How would our children ever get interested in knowing their numbers, or studying their business numbers and statistics, if they hate math(s) or cringe at the thought of looking at numbers? According to the Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad: Poor Dad, successful people “know their numbers.” So you can surely follow my reasoning that being math(s) competent is truly the “game changer” that can provide every child with the most opportunities for their lives, going forward.
